History
Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Bowker established Starbucks with their first location in Seattle, Washington; It opened on March 31, 1971. The trio was inspired by Alfred Peet, who taught them the chain’s now signature roasting method.
Today, the publicly traded coffee company and coffee shop chain has more than 23,760 stores worldwide, from North America to Asia. Such is the success of his concept that he says that two new Starbucks stores open every day! In Mexico, there are more than 500 Starbucks stores.
Menu
Starbucks uses dark roast coffee as the base for its coffee drinks, as well as automatic espresso machines to speed up the brewing process. There are so many choices in hot and cold coffee drinks that it can be overwhelming on your first few visits. You are also likely to be puzzled as you can customize your coffee based on sweetness level, fat content, and flavors.
But after several visits, you are likely to identify your favorites and make more sense of the menu. There are also whole bean coffee products, espresso drinks, latte and micro ground instant coffee (VIA). The menu also includes several tea-based beverages, including loose and full leaf teas, as well as fresh juices, frappuccinos, and seasonal beverages.
Starbucks is definitely a great place to go if you want to quench your thirst, satisfy your sweet tooth, and get a caffeine rush, maybe all three at once. But drinks aren’t the only things on the menu, as there are also cakes, chips and cookies, and hot and cold sandwiches. Many places even have a beer and wine menu; Appetizers are also available.
